MWO Earle Eastman, CD (Ret'd)

Service & Leadership

Master Warrant Officer (MWO) Earle Eastman enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces in 1977 as a Weapons Technician and served for 33 years, retiring in 2010 as Equipment Technical Quartermaster Sergeant (ETQMS) with the 1st Battalion, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry. His career included postings across Canada and overseas deployments to Cyprus, Croatia, Eritrea, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Afghanistan.

Known as a skilled technician and dedicated soldier, he earned the respect of all ranks for his leadership, integrity and willingness to lead from the front. During his Afghanistan deployment in 2006, he repeatedly accompanied RCEME detachments during tactical operations, demonstrating both technical expertise and personal courage. His leadership and performance earned him a Chief of the Defence Staff Commendation.

Legacy & Impact

Following his military service, MWO Eastman continued to serve veterans and his community. He remained active in the Reserve Force, supported equipment operations as a civilian contractor and became a national leader within the Canadian Army Veterans motorcycle organization.

He also held senior leadership roles within the Royal Canadian Legion and served his community as an elected municipal councillor. Across all roles, he was known for his strong sense of duty, advocacy for veterans and commitment to service. His legacy reflects a life of leadership, mentorship and continued service to both the RCEME community and Canada.
