Leaders and Trailblazers

Honouring Excellence in the Corps of RCEME

The Leaders and Trailblazers initiative celebrates outstanding members of the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME) who have demonstrated exceptional dedication, leadership, and service both in and out of uniform. This honour is reserved for individuals whose lives and actions have exemplified the highest values and ideals of the Corps of RCEME as depicted in its moto – Arte et Marte (by Skill and Fighting).

All RCEME personnel (serving or retired) can receive a nomination to the Leaders and Trailblazers. For successful inductions to the Leaders  Trailblazers board, the recipients have met the following selection criteria:

Lifetime Commitment
Recognizing individuals who have shown a lifelong dedication to the Corps of RCEME and made significant contributions that uphold its values, traditions, and community spirit.

Military Excellence
Celebrating careers marked by exceptional technical proficiency and soldiering skills, with sustained contributions to the Corps throughout their service.

Leadership
Honouring those who have consistently demonstrated the qualities of a true leader – during their military career and after retirement – particularly in ways that continue to support the Corps and its members.

Community Heritage Contribution
Acknowledging those who have actively contributed to RCEME heritage through involvement in museum initiatives, Corps anniversaries, archival work, monuments, and community events at the local, regional, or national level.

Public Impact
Recognizing ongoing community service and civilian contributions that reflect positively on the Corps of RCEME, including support for the Reserve, Army Cadets, the Royal Canadian Legion, fundraising, and other public efforts that preserve and promote the Corps' legacy.
